After the Storm (A Poem)

40

By St.James

After The Storm

I've been traveling a long way from home...

I just walked away-- Never dreamed of running away,

Needed to get away, from where I was just a child.

Trying to make my way; just to prove I have grown.

Gotta keep moving-- I wish I could stay...

But I gotta fly, I hear the call of the great blue wild.

Walking my path, that may just lead me home, but I'm not alone.

I guess, I can be thankful for one more day.

Maybe I should hang around for a while?

I've trekked through the snow, the rain and sun...

And, why should today be no different?

I guess I can say-- I don't know where I'm headed.

All I know is that I made it under the gun...

Taking what I can along the way, making today sufficient.

I took the curious road, I made a wish and I said it

It's not my will, that is going to be done,

Learning to count the grains of sand... I will be more patient.

I've made my choices and I don't regret 'em.

It's just after the storm...

My shoes are well traveled, and my soles are worn.

I'm coming back to the place where I was re-born.

Fantastic! The poem as well as the video 'after the fire' were amazing. I watched the video at least 5 times. Very strong lyrics. There is definitely a fire 'after the fire'.....(I believe in it). About ....'making your choices' towards the end of your poem, I feel you might just like checking on my hub which speaks about a similar thought process.
